Dr. James Hickman is the co-founder and CEO of Hesperos that is one of the early leaders in organ on a chip based research and therapeutics. They use a microfluidic medical device to mimic how the body might respond to different drugs or diseases. They have raised millions of dollars in non dilutive funding and have recently moved into their new location in Central Florida Research Park. Also hear from Dr. Robert Igarashi, the co-founder and CEO of Cytosen – a natural killer cell based therapy that was developed by him and Dr. Alicia Copik at UCF. Cytosen was acquired by Kiadis Pharma in 2019 and earlier this year, Kiadis Pharma was acquired by Sanofi for $359M with the NK cell therapy solution being one of the key reasons for the acquisition.
