Central Florida Legislative Delegation Convenes
Over 400 regional leaders from the public, private and independent sectors gathered at Port Canaveral on Tuesday as the Central Florida Legislative Delegation, with 19 of its members present, convened for its 2013 meeting hosted by the Central Florida Partnership.
2014 BusinessForce Endorsements
BusinessForce has issued its first endorsements for the 2014 election cycle with its coveted nods going to Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and Orange County District 4 Commissioner Jennifer Thompson. Both are seeking re-election to second terms in their respective posts in 2014.
Central Florida Legislative Delegation Meets at Port Canaveral
GorovitzThe annual meeting of the Central Florida Legislative Delegation at Port Canaveral on Tuesday included seven Florida Senators and twelve Members of the Florida House along with 400+ regional leaders  in attendance.  Updates were provided on the importance of Regional Transportation, Space Florida, Port Canaveral, and Modeling, Simulation & Training and their collective impact on our region.
 
Space Florida Update to Central Florida Legislative Delegation
GorovitzFrank DiBello, President of Space Florida, presented testimony to Florida Legislators on Tuesday during the 2013 meeting of the Central Florida Legislative Delegation Meeting at Port Canaveral. In addition, presentations on Regional Transportation and the Modeling, Simulation & Training cluster, as well as Port Canaveral were provided by Central Florida leaders at the meeting hosted by the Central Florida Partnership and the Port.
IDEAS TO RESULTS
Already Yielding Fruitful Results
Over 150 business and community leaders participated in one of three Regional Leadership Sessions held on Monday, November 18, 2013, at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. and at 3:00 p.m. at the National Entrepreneur Center. This important Regional Research Project, Understanding the "Values and Priorities" of Central Floridians, is a project of the Central Florida Partnership, supported by MetroPlan Orlando and the Community Foundation of Central Florida.
BusinessForce Insider's Briefing
SunRailOrange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs was the special guest speaker at the Nov. 22nd BusinessForce "Insider's Briefing" luncheon with a record-setting crowd on hand to hear from Jacobs who was formally endorsed last week for re-election in 2014 by BusinessForce, the political action arm of the Central Florida Partnership. The invitation only luncheon was hosted by BusinessForce and sponsored by AT&T, along with supporting sponsors Bright House Networks, Duke Energy, Clear Channel Outdoor, CenturyLink and Publix Supermarkets.
Leadership Alumni Remain Part of the Action
It's been a busy year for our A-Team (2013 Leadership Alumni Association), with many opportunities to connect with peers and pertinent information on Florida's Super Region. Special Alumni Invitations have centered on political activities, the economy and technology; updates were provided on regional priorities and statewide strategic direction; connections with Leadership Orlando participants provided social networking as well as intellectual enhancement.s

Founders of the Central Florida Technology Forum, Thomas O'Neal, Ph.D., Associate Vice President, Office of Research & Commercialization/ Executive Director, UCF Incubation Program; Randolph E. Berridge, President, Florida High Tech Corridor Council; Rick L. Weddle, President, Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission; and José A. Fajardo, Executive Vice President, Orlando, Inc., welcomed technology and innovation leaders to continue a series of "community discussions" on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the National Entrepreneur Center, located at Fashion Square Mall, Orlando.
