U. S. Chamber’s Better Health through Economic Opportunity Forum
An event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, to foster business engagement in community wellness. Orlando was chosen as one of only ten cities nationwide to host this healthcare summit, held in conjunction with the Florida Chamber Foundation’s 2015 Future of Florida Forum.

Leadership Orlando Class 90 Space & Sea Ports Session
Beginning at Port Canaveral, we will receive a special briefing on the multi-million dollar expansion plans at the Port as well as a unique harbor tour – from the water. A VOTE: A VOICE
State Senator Geraldine F. Thompson came to Orlando in 1973 and was frustrated by the lack of written documentation of the role African Americans played in the development of Central Florida, Florida and the United States in general. Rather than sit on the sidelines and curse the darkness, Geraldine Thompson worked with others to begin to research, document, compile and illuminate the important information that led to the publication of her first book titled Black America: Orlando, Florida which was released in 2003. She continued her research through oral history interviews and wrote the script for a stage play, A VOTE: A VOICE in 2014. Read more ...
